DeMellier is a London-based award-winning handbag brand, founded by Mireia Llusia-Lindh. Disillusioned by the compromises of the fashion industry Mireia founded DeMellier in 2017 with the vision of doing things differently: to design handbags that would make women feel empowered, made ethically and sustainably, while giving back to those less fortunate. These three values remain DeMellier’s core values today.
All DeMellier’s leather goods are handcrafted with integrity by skilled artisans in their trusted factories in Europe. All their leathers are a by-product of the food industry that would otherwise go to waste. They are all responsibly sourced mainly from Europe, USA and Australia and no leather comes from areas at risk of deforestation, such as Brazil. They only work with tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group, with the majority being top rated Gold or Silver for advanced sustainability, traceability and social practices. Through the brand’s ‘A Bag, A Life’ initiative, DeMellier has so far funded the equivalent of over 900,000 lifesaving vaccines and medical treatments for children in need.
